Agent Alerts: Client Submission & Fees Rules Effective 4/2/2019

Please note that individuals who were previously covered under any prior A. B. Nicholas agent agreements (pre February 1, 2019) will no longer have access to the Agent Portal and resources as of April 15, 2019, unless they have signed the new Agent Agreement. If you have lost or deleted the new agreement that was sent to you last week, please contact us at support@abnicholas.com for a replacement copy.

In addition, individuals who are not  signed to the new agreement by April 15, 2019, will not have permission to refer clients into A. B. Nicholas programs per regulations.

Individuals who ARE formally signed to the new Agent Agreement by April 15 will be free to refer clients into A. B. Nicholas programs without limitation; however, ONLY those who have completed the full Compliance Exam (with a score of 100%) may receive any referral fees per legal & regulatory guidelines established March 15, 2019.

We therefore urge all former agents to

1) Sign their new Agent Agreement and

2) Register & pay $35 testing fee (abnicholas.com/certregister), complete the video compliance training program (1 hour, 15 minutes), and take the Compliance Exam as noted.

Those who have completed these one-time steps will be listed as Certified A. B. Nicholas Agents and may both refer clients and receive fees on any of their referrals.

New agent applicants bringing clients for the first time will be required to sign the new Agent Agreement before we can issue their client a term sheet. They too will need to complete the Compliance Exam before we can pay any fees pursuant to their transactions, as noted above.

This notice is effective April 2, 2019. For questions, please contact us at support@abnicholas.com or 202.379.4744 ext. 2.

We remind all that these are not arbitrary, but regulatory steps that keep you, our company and our programs in line with FINRA guidelines for referring (not brokering) clients into financial programs.

Why Obtain Agent Certification?

Every registered Agent with A. B. Nicholas is required to obtain Compliance Certification to receive fees on any transaction they refer to the A. B. Nicholas LeverageLine program. What does certification do for you otherwise?  Certification gives you legal protection. Your test scores and your certification certificate are kept on file at A. B. Nicholas to prove that you have not only take the training course but passed the exam.

What Makes an A. B. Nicholas Stock Loan Better Than Others?

I’ll get right to the point.  Our rates beat anything you can get from any retail brokerage or bank.  Our loan-to-value is the highest in the market.  There is no change of ownership, nor sale of a single share required for this simple asset-based securities portfolio credit line.  Your loan is entirely, 100% managed by an accomplished FINRA-registered, licensed advisor from the major household-name brokerage/bank that services your loan program.

Reminder: April 15 for Turning in New Agent Agreement to ABN

April 15 (tax day) is also the deadline for any existing Agent signed to our old agreement to have their new Agent Agreement signed and on file with A. B. Nicholas.  Any pre-existing Agent who has not signed by that date, will be removed from the Agent portal and resources and will need to reapply in the future as a new Agent applicant if they should seek to refer clients
